Purpose of the Portfolio
The Health and Family Life Education (HFLE) course in the Master of Education program EDGC6211 includes the creation of this e-portfolio. Its main goal is to record and consider my educational experience, theoretical development and pedagogical realizations concerning the teaching of life skills in Caribbean schools. Through a thorough examination of the theme’s framework and methodologies of HFLE, this portfolio demonstrates how I have assimilated and critically engaged with important ideas like psychosocial competence, participatory learning and the whole school approach. As a personal and professional commitment to becoming an HFLE ambassador—an educator who is motivated by empathy, inclusivity and a passion for youth empowerment- in addition to evidence-based practice, this portfolio fulfills academic requirements. It reflects my conviction that HFLE is a transformative
tool for addressing students’ overall health and well-being rather than just a curriculum. By providing insight into how organized interventions, moral values and life skills training can promote stronger, healthier school communities, this portfolio seeks to close the knowledge gap between theory and practice.
